Entry forms being accepted for 2018 Little Miss & Mister pageant
Applications are now being accepted for the 2018 Great Darke County Fair Little Miss and Mister Pageant. The pageant will take place at the Youth Building on the Darke County Fairgrounds (located behind the Gazebo) on Monday, Aug. 20. The boys will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the girls at 6:30 p.m.
This year’s theme is Hollywood Stars, which is a themed and judged event. Make your favorite Hollywood Star character come alive. Be creative and think outside the box. Children must be between the ages of 3-5 years by Aug. 20 and a resident of Darke County.
There will also be a most photogenic contest for a boy and girl this year. Please include a 5×7 or smaller photograph with no enhancements with your entry fee and registration form. Please make sure the picture is labeled with name and address.
There is a $15 non-refundable entry fee due at the time of registration. Applications will be accepted until Aug. 10, 2018 at 5 p.m. No applications will be taken after this date with any exceptions. Please drop off or mail your registration and picture to The Flower Patch, 104 Rhoades Ave., Greenville, Ohio 45331.

Fair harness racing receives blue ribbon award
The Great Darke County Fair received the blue ribbon award this year for excellence in the harness racing program. Thank you to those of you that helped us receive this award this year. It is an honor to be recognized as one of the top fairs in the country and to all of you that help us achieve these goals.
Camper Storage Starts October 16th
Camper storage will begin for the season on October 16th. Our rates for the year have not changed from past years and are as follows. New cow pavilion with sprinkler will rent at $1.00 per square foot for the season, the secured storage will rent for .85 per square foot for the entire season and unsecured open sided storage is renting for .65 cents per square foot for the season. Bear Hollow Wood Carvers Coming Back to the 2018 Fair
Bear Hollow Wood Carvers will be returning to perform at The Great Darke County Fair in 2018. They will provide 4 shows per day for all 9 days (August 17-25). The Show times and the location will be determined in the near future. Again like last year there will be an auction on Friday night so that you can take one of these impressive pieces home with you.
Bear Hollow’s Traveling Shows bring the excitement of the full-throttle art form to events across the Nation. All carvings produced at The Great Darke County Fair will be auctioned/sold.

2017 Box Office Ticket Pre Registration

In an effort to shorten the online ticket purchase process, effective today you can create an account in the Great Darke County Fair Box Office software without having to purchase a ticket by following this link https://itkt.choicecrm.net/templates/DARK/index.php?acct_maint=true
From this page, you can do 1 of 2 things. 1) Existing customers can login by entering their user name and password. Once you have logged in, you will see Account Maintenance – Order History in red letters. You will also see options to click on. a) Event Schedule; b) Update Account; c) Change Password; d) Logout. There is also a Forget Your Password? function from this screen. From that same page, new customers can 2) create an account by completing the required fields.
NOTE: The Create Account, Change Password and Update Account functionality works properly but intermittently displays this message: “Error occurred contact box office” and you may be re-directed to Choiceticketing.com. The system still inputs your account/password/update. Please know that although there was an error message displayed, your account was updated/created.

Tickets for the Sunday, August 20th 8pm Josh Turner concert with Special Guest Jo Dee Messina go on sale Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 9 AM via internet (https://itkt.choicecrm.net/templates/DARK/) and by phone, 937-548-5044 using a debit or credit card. Beginning Monday, March 13, 2017 at 8 AM, tickets may also be purchased at the Fair Box Office located at 800 Sweitzer Street, Greenville OH.
